RESUMO

People's perspectives and behaviors altered in a variety of ways during the pandemic period, most notably in areas related to health, environment, and most notably waste management. Many people still prefer to work from home and this in turn leads to a large accumulation of garbage without having any proper means of disposal. As a result, the garbage area will serve as a breeding ground for illness. Garbage is usually composed of a residual waste generated from a product or object that has outlived its useful life, but can still be recycled into a valuable item. On this basis, the solution is to use a waste bank;it is a collection point for sorted garbage. It is claimed that using a waste bank can help in preventing the garbage accumulation. The main purpose of this study is to determine the contribution of the waste bank to end garbage accumulation. The information gathered through a review of the literature and direct interviews with multiple informants. According to the findings of the literature review, waste banks can provide a variety of benefits to users, as well as the community and surrounding environment. The proposed research study's findings show that the changes in community activity patterns contribute to an increase in garbage, and that the community plays an important role in waste control. From the performed research study, it is evident that m any individuals are interested about garbage banks and their benefits based on this presumption. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

Several challenges have emerged as a result of the rapid spread of Covid-19 in Indonesia. To combat the pandemic, the government has also issued general guidelines for avoiding/limiting direct contact with common people who do not live with them. However, in some unavoidable cases, such as cash transactions, the social distancing has not yet been followed properly. These type of challenges can be avoided by the introduction of e-wallets and e-money. This research study examines the transactions made using e-wallets and e-money and how these methods are increasing sales in public places. The proposed research study has attempted to utilize both qualitative and a quantitative method to observe the customer behavior while using e-wallet as a substitute for physical money when making a transaction in a shopping mall. The result of the proposed research work will be compared with the existing literature to provide a conclusion based on existing research data and literature. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

The rapid development of technology and ease of information today greatly affects all aspects of life. During the COVID-19 pandemic, technology played an important role in maintaining community activities continued smoothly despite being hampered by several health policies during the COVID-19 pandemic. Many phenomena develop with new technologies in several fields, one in the economic field is e-commerce. E-commerce is a site that makes it easier for buyers to get the goods desired by the community, as well as the various interesting promos that are the attractiveness of the community to constantly shop in e-commerce so that the community applies consumptive behavior. So that the problem that will be discussed in this study is the development of e-commerce technology that affects people's behavior in shopping which tends to be consumptive and hedonic. The purpose of this study is to determine the impact or effect of the use of e-commerce on consumptive behavior during the pandemic period and provide an overview of the potential regarding e-commerce in the future. This research method is quantitative. The data collection technique used for this study is to use a questionnaire. Thus, this research is expected to minimize the negative impacts that can be caused by the increasing consumptive behavior of society during the pandemic and provide wise e-commerce use. The results of this study can be seen from calculations using a formula that respondents tend to be more extravagant during the pandemic and for future potential, respondents will certainly enjoy the convenience provided by e-commerce. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

In today's environment, financial knowledge is vital and should be possessed by everyone. Numerous people are financially disadvantaged as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. This serves as a reminder of the critical nature of financial investment in the future. However, many Indonesians, particularly students, are still unfamiliar with capital market investing. In reality, investing in the stock market can provide a variety of benefits, including financial security, capital appreciation, and passive income. Financial literacy concerns can result in a lack of financial awareness among pupils. Indeed, financial literacy is widely available online and can be accessed at any time and from any location. We employed a quantitative method with a non-experimental research design for this study. A questionnaire survey is used to obtain data. The goal of this study is to determine whether there is a correlation between student interest in capital market investment and their digital financial literacy. As a result, extensive action is required to increase student interest in the capital market, which is precisely what this study wants to do. According to our findings, students who have access to digital financial and investment information have increased their financial literacy and developed a greater interest in investing in the capital market. Individuals are also encouraged by social media trends to try their hand at investing in the stock market. Additionally, students prefer to invest in stocks and mutual funds over other investing options. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

The pandemic known as COVID-19 has engulfed the world, and brought with it a huge set of impacts on economic growth, especially in the MSME sector for a country, especially Indonesia. Because this pandemic has hit various MSME sectors in Indonesia, especially the tourism sector, it is necessary to get more attention in order to get fast handling. Therefore, this study will discuss the impacts of COVID-19 MSMEs that operate in the tourism sector, what some tourist-heavy regions in Indonesia have been doing thus far to aid in overcoming them, and what the government can do to overcome these impacts. The purpose of this study is to help find solutions to these problems. Our research employs a qualitative research method with a descriptive type of research. The results of the research show that there are several impacts that the pandemic had on MSMEs in the tourism sector, including the lack of income generated because the source of income comes from tourist visits and a large drop in earnings and a large increase in MSME bankruptcy across the nation. Most of this occurred because the presence of COVID-19 prevents tourists from visiting. Each region has also enacted their own solutions, such as health protocols in Lampung and Kupang, and tourist-attracting marketing for Bali. The research also shows that the ministry of tourism has enacted several policies to countermeasure this issue, such as a change in how tourist-based businesses are run, safety protocols and certifications, and regulations. Our solution consists of contactless technological solutions as alternatives to travel and enactment of previously discussed government policies. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

In the current state of the pandemic, all sectors of human life must change because of the health protocols that must be implemented. All sectors ranging from the economic sector, law, and education experienced obstacles in its implementation. Of course, because this activity will be the spread of the COVID-19 outbreak cluster. In the field of education itself, in 2020 the government stipulates that the implementation of education in Indonesia is carried out using the distance learning model. However, these changes must of course be supported by technological advances in order to be achieved. Technologies such as zoom and other communication tools support this research. In addition, technology that is no less important is big data analysis in decision making in educational institutions, which is also needed to improve distance learning. But is distance learning effective today? And how does the use of big data analysis affect the effectiveness of the distance learning process? To prove it, we chose one of the universities that have used big data analysis in Private University in Jakarta as the sample to be analyzed using quantitative research methods with a Likert-shaped survey distribution. The results of this survey are that according to respondent’s distance learning is currently effective, and indeed there is an effect of increasing the effectiveness of distance learning by using big data analysis to assist decision making. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

In this pandemic situation, there are many problems facing people from all over the world. For example, economic downgrades, family problems, illness, and health problems, etc. Indonesia is one of many countries facing this situation. With a record of being the fourth most populous country in the world, Indonesia easily creates a lot of problems in this pandemic situation. This pandemic situation has made the world aware of such problems in their lives. One of the important types of problems that arise from this awareness is the maintenance of physical health. Maintenance of physical health is very important for this pandemic situation. COVID-19 can really cause many diseases, and therefore, health maintenance is very important to get rid of this virus. Many media inform the public to take care of their physical health, but there are also many things that need to be considered and continue life as it is. Therefore, information explaining the importance of maintaining physical health is needed by people in Indonesia, and this study tries to review the importance of health maintenance. This data can be shown in of an app, where it is all currently done digitally, in conjunction also with COVID-19 pandemic that has resulted all people to become digitally literate. In addition, there is also the risk of access to meet other people if you have to consult a doctor, so making a physical health maintenance application during the COVID-19 pandemic will be very helpful. Various educations can be given to the public, such as educating the public that taking supplements/vitamins is important in preventing the COVID-19 virus. Consuming minerals and vitamins for endurance is indeed important during the current pandemic, because the body needs these substances to increase endurance. Apart from supplements, vitamin and mineral needs can also be obtained from various types of food. According to dietitian Maxine Smith, eating healthy foods is the best way to keep the immune system in balance, because the immune system relies heavily on nutritious food. This is because healthy foods contain various substances, including vitamins and minerals as immune support. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

During the recent COVID-19 outbreak, many people opted to stay at home and completely run their businesses online. The recent research studies show that, the frozen food sales and social media usage have grown exponentially as a result of the change in people’s behavior and companies’ marketing strategies. Frozen food sales are expected to grow as a result of social media marketing, and also, the relationship between buyers and sellers is becoming more flexible. The main purpose of this research study is to examine the recent increase in frozen food sales as a result of social media’s influence. The proposed research work has been carried out by using qualitative technique, and also, this research study has conducted a literature analysis to learn from previous research works based on what factors they contribute to increase sales, and why social media is the best medium for marketing. The literature study suggests that frozen food sales rise as a result of consumer behavior, and that social media is the best platform for marketing their products. The results indicate that the behavioral changes have a significant impact on frozen food sales, and that social media assists in product marketing and enhancing the key drivers of growing consumer interest. As a result, a large number of frozen food companies are considering the option of utilizing social media as a marketing tool. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

RESUMO

Purpose : A prospective observational clinical study was performed to evaluate ocular symptoms related to dry eye disease (DED) in patients infected with COVID-19. Methods : The staff of an University Hospital in Londrina city, Brazil, who presented respiratory symptoms and underwent nasal swab PCR test for SARS-CoV-2 detection at the outpatient unit during November to December 2020 was assessed by electronic messages and separated in two groups (PCR test negative or control group-CG, and PCR test positive or COVID-19 group-COVG). Sociodemographic data, presence of ocular and systemic comorbidities, place of treatment (home, infirmary or intensive care unit), and the Ocular Surface Disease Index (OSDI) questionnaire, translated and validated to Portuguese for DED evaluation were performed. OSDI contains 3 subsections including visual-related function (category A), ocular symptoms (category B) and environmental triggers (category C). Scores range from 0 to 100 with 0 to 12 representing normal, 13 to 22 mild DED, 23 to 32 moderate DED and 33 severe DED. The data was submitted to statistical analysis. Results : From 450 electronic messages sent, 113 patients were included. 62(54,85%) had laboratory-confirmed (RT-PCR) Covid-19. The mean age was 36 years, ranging from 21 to 60 years. 83 (73.4%) patients were female. The main systemic comorbidity was smoking (23%), followed by obesity (3.5%) and hypertension (1.76%). The mean OSDI score was 13.85 in the COVG and 5.37 in the CG (p=0.002). The COVG had a mean score of 3.50 related to category A, 1.05 to category B and 2.13 to category C while the CG presented a mean score of 1.41, 0.39 and 0.80 respectively (p = 0.003;p=0.04;p=0.01). Patients who required hospitalization for treatment presented OSDI score proportionally greater than those who were treated at home (25.67) (p=0.052). Conclusions : OSDI score was higher in the COVG and among patients who required hospitalization for treatment. These results suggest association of COVID infection and DED;and increase of DED according to the severity of respiratory symptoms.

RESUMO

Due to the increasing cases of people getting laid off or getting fired during New Normal era in Indonesia causes several people in several employment sector to be unemployed. Some of them, such as parents of university students getting unemployed and experiencing family economic difficulties, cause students to look for work to help stabilize their family economy and help them with college tuition fees. According to data from the Kemnaker (Ministry of Employment), 1,058,284 formal sector workers were laid off as of May 27, 2020, whereas 380,221 workers were laid off by formal sector workers. Meanwhile, 318,959 jobs in the informal sector were impacted. There were also 34,179 potential migrant workers who were not dispatched and 465 interns who were returned. A total of 1,792,108 employees have been impacted by Covid-19 epidemic. Based on the data taken from Kemnaker as of 27th May 2020, the number of laid off in Indonesia has continued to decline since 2014. In 2018, the number of layoffs could be reduced to 3,400 workers, or down 95.67% from 2014. However, in 2019, the figure rose again to 45,000. In the midst of the pandemic, the number of laid off has increased again. According to a number of statements from the Minister of Manpower Ida Fauziyah quoted by several media, the number of layoffs until August 2020 reached 3.6 million people. Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency on February 26, 2021, almost all areas in Jakarta have more job seekers than job vacancies. The goal of this study was to see how the pandemic affected the difficulties of getting a job. And how many additional things come into play when it comes to finding work? This study will be carried out with qualitative methodologies. Primary sources were used to compile this information. The study will employ a descriptive approach. The data was collected via a google form survey that included questions regarding the difficulties of getting work. RESUMO

This study is to clarify the current situation of convention business and analyze the preferences of convention attendees in the time of Covid-19 pandemic. To clarify the research objectives, this study employed the statistical data of questionnaire survey on the perceptions of convention attendees in the Japanese Society of Hot Spring Science, Japan. The questionnaire survey was conducted in November 2020. The survey instrument was divided into 4 parts: demographic information, reasons for participation, types of meeting, and priority of countermeasures against Covid-19. Even in the time of Covid-19, 60% of the respondents answered that they hope to participate in convention by onsite meeting because they are willing to meet other participants who can share their knowledge. On the other hand, there are advantages such as no transportation fees and infection prevention by holding convention in online. Moreover, online meetings give a new business opportunity for IT-related jobs. However, holding online meeting does not bring economic impact to local area in the perspective of tourism industry. Without economic impact to local area, local tourism industry starts to decline. It means loss of employment and cultural properties. During Covid-19 pandemic, online meetings can be considered as an option. However, after the Covid-19 pandemic gets resolved, onsite meeting or at least hybrid meetings will be recommended. © 2021 IEEE.

RESUMO

Background. The rapid spread of the COVID-19 pandemic has taken a considerable mental strain on frontline healthcare workers (HCWs). Although a number of studies have reported on burnout during the peak of the pandemic, few studies have analyzed it after the pandemic temporally subsided. This study aimed to identify which intervention or support was helpful to reduce the physical and mental burden during the pandemic. Methods. An online cross-sectional survey of HCWs from June 15 to July 6, 2020, was conducted at a tertiary hospital in Tokyo, Japan. Demographic characteristics, results of the Japanese version of the Maslach Burnout Inventory-General Survey, types of anxiety and stress, changes in life and work after the peak of the pandemic, and types of support aimed at reducing the physical or mental burden, were determined. Results. Out of 672 HCWs, 149 (22.6%) met the overall burnout criteria. Figure 1 showed the comparison of what helped reduce their physical and mental burden between the burnout group and the non-burnout group. After adjusted by the potential covariates, burnout was more prevalent in women (OR, 3.11;95% CI, 1.45-6.67;p = .003), and had heightened anxiety due to unfamiliarity with PPE (OR, 1.98;95% CI, 1.20-3.27;p=.007). Conversely, participants who reported that PPE education opportunities (OR, .484;95% CI, .236-.993;p = .048) and messages of encouragement at the workplace (OR, .584;95% CI, .352-.969;p = .037) helped reduce their physical and mental burden had less burnout. Conclusion. The educational interventions for PPE and messages of encouragement at the workplace may be needed to reduce the mental burden for HCWs.
